John Taylor is a trained electrical engineer who has been successful in both Global and Asia regional leadership roles for leading publicly traded firms including AEG Power Solutions (spanning two private equity buy-outs the first by Ripplewood Holdings from Alcatel, and subsequently Germany 1’s SPAC buyout and subsequent listing on the Frankfurt Main Bourse). Prior to that he held Asia regional marketing director and general management positions at Novar plc’s Intelligent Building Systems division up to its merger with Honeywell.
In Malaysia, John was the country manager and managing director leading the successful turnaround of a Jardine Engineering – Thorn Lighting plc joint venture. This followed a start-up for Albert Ackermann GmbH in Hong Kong and successful establishment of the business across Asia over a five year stint following which the business was acquired by Novar plc (formerly Caradon).
With over 25 years’ experience in Asia, these varied roles have provided John with a broad knowledge of a range of business sectors including:
- Real estate
- Data centers
- Building products
- Energy, including Renewables, especially Solar
John Taylor completed the prestigious Sloan Fellowship Masters Programme at London Business School and graduated Master of Science in Management from the University of London. He is a member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology [MIET], the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers [MIEEE], and the Singapore Institute of Directors.
